During the U23’s and U18’s games against Wales Steve Ritchie was chosen to lead the England C team. The English team were on a roll and every player showed grit, determination and was an absolute credit to themselves and the support staff and families.
This is no mean feat as preparations during Covid times were troublesome to say the least. Two World Championships were cancelled, one European Championship, and many more tournaments and opportunities to play great opponents and chances to develop yourself never materialised.
Steve: “There were moments in the last 20 months where I thought I was unlucky and would never get the chance to represent my country. But within 12 months, I will have played in all the major international tournaments one of which will be the World Championships! Unbelievable.”
Steve’s team members during the competition with Wales were Karl Eggar, Jamie Bennet, Jaydn Browne, Jaden Billingham, Josh Traynor, Matyy Ry and Ali Kahn. A fantastic group of lads and the future of England pool.
Flexitrans have been delighted and honoured to support Steve Ritchie during the early stages of his career and will be rooting for the England team all the way!
